PT Tech a division of Timken is seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Development Engineer to drive operational excellence and systemic improvement throughout the organization by leading root cause problem solving initiatives of customer returned product, non-conforming material evaluation and disposition, production troubleshooting, and working with collaborative teams to drive organizational continuous improvement.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own the Non-Conforming Material Procedure and drive timely resolutions.
  • Manage QIM (Quality Issue Management) events from internal, supplier, and customer sources.
  • Partner with SQE and QM teams to address Supplier and Customer QIM concerns.
  • Lead and support root cause investigations using 3D/8D methodologies.
  • Perform incoming and final inspections, and support containment processes.
  • Operate or support use of Romer Arm / CMM inspections.
  • Maintain and support Indysoft gage calibration software.
  • Conduct internal ISO 9001:2015 audits.
  • Execute PPAP / FAIR / CoC deliverables as part of new product deployment and Safe Launch processes.
  • Collaborate with CI and Manufacturing Engineering teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Submit ESRs for engineering documentation updates.
  • Drive SPC and trend analysis where applicable

Reliability Engineering Focus:

  • Analyze warranty return data and author Damage Analysis Reports
  • Serve as a liaison between Service and Engineering teams.
  • Provide insights into field performance and recommend design/process improvements.
  • Participate in reliability studies of returned products, including failure analysis and trend tracking.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Review Safe Launch signals in Windchill®.
  • Perform process audits and internal business system audits.
  • Operate metallurgy lab equipment, including hardness testers.

What We are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in quality or reliability roles in manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and quality systems
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
  • Hands-on experience with metrology tools (CMM, Romer Arm, gage calibration systems)
  • Familiarity with PPAP, FAIR, CoC processes
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
