At Cone Drive, our Application Engineers are at the forefront of providing exceptional technical support to our customers. This role involves reviewing application data, performing detailed calculations, selecting reducers, and preparing proposals. You’ll also manage projects from initial inquiry through delivery, ensuring customer requirements are met while aligning with company policies and goals. Additionally, you will contribute to product development, online tool development, and provide vital technical support for Cone Drive initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Coordinate design reviews, engineering activities, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless project execution for proposals and orders.
  • Customer Support: Effectively prioritize and manage multiple opportunities, ensuring clear and efficient communication with customers. Deliver accurate and timely quotes while maintaining a high level of responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Quotation Development: Prepare and deliver customer quotations, including cost estimates and lead times for custom products, in partnership with purchasing, sales, design and pricing teams.
  • Technical Proposals: Create and present detailed technical proposals to customers, incorporating drawings, calculations, specifications, and other critical information.
  • Customer Presentations: Communicate complex technical concepts and designs to diverse audiences through phone, email, web conferencing, or in-person meetings.
  • Technical Proficiency: Stay current with company policies, industry standards, and technical tools, applying them effectively to customer needs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster productive relationships with customers, field representatives, and internal teams to support customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Site Visits: Meet with customers at their facilities to provide on-site support when necessary.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with quality and sales teams to resolve customer complaints through application and failure analysis, providing detailed reports as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BSME preferred)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical procedures and regulations.
  • Strong foundation in machine operation, supported by knowledge of statics, dynamics, trigonometry, and algebra.
  • Basic proficiency in 3D CAD software.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to associates and customers.
  • Strong writing skills, capable of drafting reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).  Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations.
