Purpose and Scope:
This role is all about getting hands-on with the production process—turning raw materials into high-quality anti-friction bearings. As a Machine Operator, you’ll help keep things running smoothly, make sure we’re hitting our quality goals, and look for ways to make the process even better every day.
Responsibilities:
Production Setup and Operation
- Set up, change over, and operate a variety of production equipment such as ring rolling, turning, heat treating, grinding, and assembly—most of which is computer controlled.
Measurement and Gauging
- Perform basic measurements of bearing geometry using advanced computer-controlled gauging systems as well as precision tools including digital calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and metallurgical instruments.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance to avoid equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor to moderate technical problems; occasionally participate in rebuilding equipment or sub-assemblies.
Production Information Management
- Use plant information systems to interpret work queues, provide process feedback, track material needs, and log production events accurately.
Material Handling
- Operate material handling equipment such as fork trucks, pallet lifts, semi-automatic lifters, and other tools to safely move in-process materials.
Process Control and Quality Assurance
- Apply process control tools such as X-bar and R charts, histograms, and Pareto analysis to monitor and improve product quality.
- Identify, diagnose, and correct out-of-control conditions promptly.
- Ensure that non-conforming products or information are not processed further without appropriate review and communication.
Customer and Quality Focus
- Understand internal and external customer technical requirements.
- Uphold quality standards by ensuring only conforming products are advanced through production.
Team Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Actively participate in plant-based continuous improvement teams; occasionally serve as team facilitator.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of training materials for future Machine Operators / Process Technicians.
- Support the training of new employees and engage in ongoing personal skill and business knowledge development.

- Comprehensive training provided—prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
