The Operations Manager position is responsible for all manufacturing operations, production control and purchasing. This position will provide guidance to the department leaders and associates to operate in a safe manner, providing quality product and meeting the Key Process Indicator (KPI’s) within the department and for the facility.  This position is responsible for the continuous improvement of processing and performance to meet operational and financial goals; Including, but not limited to safety metrics, on-time delivery, departmental performance, operational productivity, inventory goals, technology improvements, annual business planning and continuous improvement of the Hackettstown Plant.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all associates ensuring emotional, physical and environmental safety at all times creating an open culture, acting with ethics integrity.
  • Participate as an active member of the Hackettstown Plant leadership team in all staff meetings and annual business planning providing input and ownership for all plant issues.
  • Provide assistance including project management executive support and steering committee review for continuous process improvements.
  • Assist operational and functional managers to define and acquire resources for the accomplishment of KPI’s: Including definition of personnel needs, job descriptions, training programs, machine capabilities, processes, and technology enhancements.
  • Assist in the development of suppliers and procurement of raw material to support customer quality and delivery requirements while maintaining the targeted margins to ensure profitability of the facility.
  • Participate and support the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH & S) associates to support any Timken, state or local government requirements or regulations.
  • Assist in providing information flow to and from the manufacturing operations, scheduling operations and procurement operations through report processes and communication tools to mitigate risk of unfavorable delivery performance to the internal and external customers of the facility.
  • Develop quality goals, tactics and strategies to continually improve quality systems, procedures and processes to meet or exceed customer requirements.  Including: Manage all quality metrics and develop and implement 
  • improvement plans.  Lead teams in the utilization of root cause problem solving techniques to reduce and eliminate nonconforming product, ensure associates are properly trained and certified to assigned jobs, and manager supplier relations to ensure consistent quality inputs and processes
  • Drive inventory management to maintain a proper level of inventory to support current and future demands defined by the marketing sector working with the supply chain and finance teams.
  • Drive the localization of Rollon product in the Americas.  Work with Italian production to make Rollon Corp more self-sufficient with local sourcing and manufacturing.
  • Develop personnel to ensure a continuous support of all operational functions through both annual goal setting, ongoing coaching, high level talent management and annual succession planning.
  • Maintain a communication plan with all associates to communicate performance accomplishments including periodic meetings, individual meetings and company meetings to review and define future direction in a respectful and collaborative manner.
  • Manages and leads supervision team to effectively carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.  Directs operations team to perform in a safe and efficient manner with emphasis on quality.



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 12 years' experience working within the manufacturing industry
  • Lean experience preferred
