Purpose and Scope:
This position exists to direct and manage the plant maintenance department, tool room, and all EH&S activities. Overall responsibilities are to maintain equipment and infrastructure, meet all tooling requirements for production, and maintain compliance to all government and Timken EH&S standards. Keeping Aurora employees safe is paramount, as well as meeting and continuously improving production efficiency, meeting customer service goals, and providing direction, development and leadership to the maintenance and tool room teams.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all associates ensuring emotional, physical, and environmental safety at all times.
- Maintains compliance to all environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations for Aurora through a comprehensive annual plan to complete all regulatory reports and audits at the facility.
- Provides recommendations for additional staffing and equipment as well as creating/maintaining a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the facility.
- Oversees facility infrastructure and creates long term maintenance plan for major projects within Aurora providing input to the annual business planning and capital expenditure recommendations.
- Is active participant in the continuous projects within Aurora and works with operations to seek cost reduction opportunities through machine upgrades and layouts.
- Manages EH&S activities when the EH&S Analyst is not present at the facility as well as the secondary contact for all environmental spills / escapes for the facility.
- Works with corporate EH&S on new projects and initiatives to decrease the environmental footprint of Aurora Bearing as well as achieve all certification requirements annually.
Technical/Functional Skills:
- Strong communication skills, and experience with large projects and budget management.
- Experience in either manufacturing maintenance, EH&S, or tooling machining. (preferably 2/3)
- Knowledge and experience with operating/fixing machines or other mechanically inclined positions
- Problem solving skills and knowledge of lean
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
Previous Job Experiences:
Manufacturing experience: Minimum 5 years, 10 years preferred
Management / Supervision: Minimum 2 years, 5 years preferred
