PURPOSE

The System Analyst is primarily responsible for providing IT support in a fashion that ensures efficient operations and system compliance. This includes functional and technical guidance on both projects and on-going support requirements for a highly automated manufacturing operation.

  • Focused support of Shop Floor Information System and PC controlled manufacturing equipment and gauges.
  • Shop floor networking of manufacturing equipment
  • Ensure accurate and efficient delivery of electronic information from Corporate Systems to manufacturing operations
  • Site Support for IT Hardware- Deployment, troubleshooting, break-fix of equipment including computers, monitors, printers etc. at the site.
  • Troubleshooting of network issues (Hardware and Software issues)
  • Resolve hardware or network equipment issues in a timely fashion, either directly or working with others, to include technical support areas of backup and disaster recovery for the equipment.   
  • Maintain and backup various databases of information connected to manufacturing process
  • Lead and coordinate systems project with local and corporate engineering teams

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide expertise in information systems technologies
  • Provide cross functional support and direction on the use of technology tools.
  • Support business projects across functional groups- Collaborate and gather feedback from other work-streams within the facility to determine prioritization of tasks to align IT work with Business Strategy.
  • Possess and understanding of the business relationships between multi-functional groups including corporate systems and/or divisional groups.
  • To administer the network communications between the plant and corporate office.
  • To provide system support and programming where needed in this facility
  • To understand the plant’s information flow, both manual and automated and their dependencies, and provide continual support and improvement in this flow.
  • Leads and/or coordinates significant projects including scope, timing, cost, and communication at the various stages of the project to different stakeholders.
  • Leverage technology and facility design to improve business/distribution operations.
  • Responsible for carrying out assignments requiring the development of new or improved processes- job duties could include deployment of new or replacement hardware in the facility,
  • Be able to evaluate and make decisions on computer equipment, operating system, and/or program problems that are used at the facility.  Some of the issues will require working on equipment or software that may have many variables that are unknown. (Assist personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software, Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone)
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies including, but not limited to user access, quarterly reviews, system backup, off-site storage, disaster recovery and Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
  • Utilizes techniques, technologies, and implementation methods to deliver prescribed levels of service and drives process improvement in all components of the Timken architecture (server management, network management and application delivery) on time.
  • Resolve hardware or network equipment issues in a timely fashion, either directly or working with others, to include technical support areas of backup and disaster recovery for the equipment.   
  • Install printers (hardware and software) in mfg. areas
  • Install/Replace computers in mfg. areas  
  • Troubleshoot and repair printers in mfg area
  • Troubleshoot and repair network issues in mfg area
  • Troubleshoot network issues in mfg area, to include wireless access points, cabling etc.
  • Install various hardware, pull network cable for new equipment installation; oversee contractors performing work
  • Maintain organized, clean work environment to include computer storage room.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on printers in mfg area

SKILLS

Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills demonstrated through project work resulting in significant process efficiency gains. 

Interpersonal skills in teamwork and communications need to be developed to the highest professional level.  Subject must possess the ability to foster and encourage good working relationships between IT, engineering, maintenance, operations, supervision, and other company personnel where a good working relationship is required.

In depth knowledge of PC networking and trouble shooting.  Strong experience and with Windows based applications and shop floor information systems.  Firm grasp of business processes and systems linkage.  Background in various SAP modules a plus, especially MII.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Systems Engineering, preferred MBA

Work experience of minimum 3 years as an analyst in a manufacturing company, preferred 5 years.
