Position Purpose:


  • Contribute to the fulfillment of the production plan, working in a safe and responsible way to manufacture good parts the first time, respecting the quality standards and specifications of the product based on the Timken norms.
  • Contribute to activities carried out in the cup / cone production line, Program loading, positioning of the work coordinate axes, assembly, tuning of tools and machines to run the program, parts with dimensions and specified tolerances 
  • Responsible for the correct state and mechanical and operational management of the equipment, report incident or failure to production supervision, decision making and autonomy in the execution of process standards in adjustments and compensations.


Main Responsibilities:


    • Safeguard physical integrity by following security standards at each workstation.
    • Prepare and load the forging and components into the machine in the correct position.
    • Translation and conversion of numerical instructions and computer commands to carry out the correct and precise function of the machinery.
    • Responsible for selecting the starting method defined for each process and adjusting the parameters according to the working conditions, taking the tolerances as reference.
    • Assembly of devices necessary to carry out model changes, ensuring their balancing and centering of each element, configuring the machines to carry out complete cycles.
    • Apply their training knowledge to obtain the technical data necessary for finishing mechanical parts, interpreting manufacturing drawings, identifying types and characteristics of materials, as well as; shapes, dimensions, tolerances, finishes on cylindrical, stepped (Rib), exterior (OD), interior (ID) and flat (Flat) surfaces respecting the frequency of measurement and inspection of the product.
    • Apply work methods that guarantee quality based on the standards and policies established by the company in the Grinding process such as programs, operation sheets, quality control sheets.
    • Use of measurement, verification and dimensional control instruments, calibrated, adjusted to measurements and tolerances according to the shapes of the pieces. 
    • Responsible for the use and care of machinery, reporting equipment breakdowns to area managers.
    • Prepare a test to check if the machines carry out the production according to the specifications.
    • Participation in the continuous improvement of your area through the different Lean tools.
    • Correct filling of records required for product identification and traceability.
    • Intermediate interpretation in 2D and 3D plans.
