PURPOSE

Support the San Jose plant in various closing, reporting, inventory management and business planning activities for both locations. Support and conduct daily, weekly and monthly forecasting, budgeting and reporting activities as well as to conduct analysis of variances and their causes. Communicate results and analysis with Plant Controller, the Plant Management Team and Timken corporate, as required. Interface directly with plant manager, plant management team and other plant personnel. Drive productivity, spending and achievement of plant financial targets. Investigate plant financial issues, perform root cause analysis, and find corrective actions. Look ahead for impending financial problems, communicate the situation, and suggest actions to avoid or offset. To assists in understanding the costs, productivity, and efficiencies of conducting a manufacturing plant in order to improve operations. To assist in coordinating and organizing the annual standard cost, physical inventory, and cycle count, in order to maintain accurate costing information, inventory valuation and manufacturing transactions, also inventory values accuracy. Must also perform a variety of regular and recurring professional accounting and costing functions involving tax interpretation and analysis, reconciliations, and reviews of multiple accounts and transactions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist to coordinate the calculation of the annual standard cost, hourly quotas of labor & expenses, and landing factors.
  • Assist to organize the annual physical inventory and cycle counts analyzing root causes to get corrective action plans implemented.
  • Assist to identify opportunities to improve profitability then be an active member of the implementation team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and be an active member of the implementation team.
  • Assist to communicate manufacturing scorecard to all plant areas.
  • To perform general accounting and costing journal entries.
  • To assist in Annex 24 compliance.
  • To elaborate GL accounts reconciliation.
  • Assist to prepare the annual business plan and quarterly forecast.
  • To assist in providing accurate information over the safe harbor calculation.
  • To ensures compliance with internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • To organize tax records and prepared documents for annual independent audit and tax return.
  • Coordinate plant efforts for labor reporting, scrap and inventory reporting activities.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of annual budgets and product cost standards for plant product lines and part numbers.
  • Assist controller in daily, weekly and monthly financial accounting closing processes.
  • Provide cost information to processing departments, as required.
  • Produce monthly reports for controller, plant management and corporate requirements.
  • Work with plant personnel to correct and analyze errors and misreporting.
  • Work independently to complete tasking and communicate results, as required.
  • Monitor capital budgets, capital spending and creation of new fixed assets.
  • Create and update internal orders to support projects, and monitor spending.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

  • Variance and root cause analysis skills
  • Advanced Microsoft and SAP capabilities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Knowledge and prior experience working in a maquiladora structure
  • Good interpersonal communication & organizational skills
  • Able to manage priorities and workflow - multi-task oriented

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business, preferred MBA.

Work experience of minimum 5 years in manufacturing maquiladora companies.
