Job Essentials

Electronics Technician, Second Shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday - Friday)

Plan, layout, and perform all required operations incidental to the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electronic devices and systems used throughout the plant: 

  • Safety - daily participation and involvement in individual and team safety responsibilities such as Behavior based Safety, housekeeping practices, chemical labeling, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be familiar with electronic devices and systems, and operating procedures. 
  • Insure proper working order of the electronic devices and systems at all times. 
  • Inspect and test electronic equipment and devices to identify and correct potential faults or failures before they occur and repair them when they do occur. 
  • Tear down units, diagnose and determine extent of trouble to board level, repair or replace defective elements, and reassemble. 
  • Plan and schedule repair work on installation to keep production delay time to a minimum.  Repair and replace wiring, instruments, and control mechanisms. 
  • Position involves a variety of operations requiring skill and knowledge of electronic circuits and various electronic components and devices and their relationship to each other when used in various circuits. 
  • Knowledge of schematics tables, symbols, abbreviations, control elements, power supplies, control circuits, circuit applications, instruments, integrated circuits, logic systems, electronic design is necessary. 
  • Position also requires thorough knowledge of general electrical principles and components such as: motors, switches, wiring, relays, etc; and general mechanical principles and components as: hydraulics, mechanical power transmission, mechanical controls, etc. 
  • Must be aware of the basic requirements of the National Electrical Code. 
  • Must maintain competence in state of the art electronic technology. 
  • Assist maintenance in other routine duties when required. 
  • Must work in a safe and efficient manner. 
  • Report unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervision. 
  • Work as directed by the maintenance supervisor.


    Minimum Requirements:


  1. Associate’s Degree in Electronics or relevant technical degree, equivalent military training or equivalent work experience in electronic tech position.
  2. Skill and prior experience with PLCs, including diagnostics and troubleshooting 
  3. Ability to use complicated drawings, advanced shop mathematics, handbook formulas, and complicated measuring tools. 
  4. Requires thorough knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical principles.
  5. Must be willing to work any shift and over-time.
