The Supply Chain Manager is designated as the management representative for the facility regarding demand management, production planning and scheduling functions.  The purpose of this position is to manage and provide vision to key functions that support the manufacturing process including production planning & scheduling, logistics, purchasing, and inventory control. This individual manages the supply chain department and works closely with the corporate supply chain team.  The position is responsible for all material planning, material movement, material inventory, material outsource tracking, material packing and logistics of shipping. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing a level loaded plant and monitoring the execution of this plan by measuring schedule attainment and on-time delivery. This role is responsible for being a key input to the SIOP process and ensuring market changes are reflected into the future schedule as well as communicating changes in resource needs with plant leadership. Provides leadership and assistance to the Plant Manager in identifying and eliminating waste impacting throughput, inventory costs and labor requirements


- Supply Chain Management: Develop supplier strategies to ensure correct delivery, inventory, quality and supply flow of product from vendors.

- Schedule: Quantify plant capacity on a regular basis and ensure strategy plans are developed to best utilize this capacity. Communicate with plant leadership any predicted changes in capacity needs and recommend course of actions working with Operations, Quality and Accounting. Develop/implement policies and procedures that successfully interpret incoming demand and integrate them into the operating plan, while staying within the boundaries of operational capacity and efficient utilization of all plant resources. Interact with corporate Order fulfillment and Supply Chain organization, including sourcing and purchasing, to ensure scheduling commitments can be met. Partner with quality to reduce internal failures and develop root cause analysis.

- Inventory: Develop inventory strategy including understanding accurate inventory levels which maximizes OTD and reduce costs. Drive inventory reduction initiatives to attain world-class levels.

- Logistics:  Manage material movement within the facility, shipping and receiving to minimize cost to the organization.

- Purchasing:  Oversee and support the purchasing needs of the plant for both direct and indirect materials.

- Scrap: Develop Lean strategy for plant supply chain/materials management to identify normal from abnormal conditions and develop waste elimination strategies. Drive Lean concepts and initiatives.

- Talent Management: Provide leadership and direction to associates including development of a high-performance team, talent & succession plan development (TMP), performance management, coaching, mentoring, training, resource/business planning, standards and processes. Plays a key role on the plant leadership team.

- Create policies and procedures to support the overall manufacturing operation efficiencies during the plant start-up.  Drive the supply chain CI process through the application of lean thinking and problem solving.  Lead lean activities and external material flow connections to achieve optimal material flow and lead times.

- Work with Maquiladora principal to ensure inventory, material purchasing, and other functions are managed within the requirements specified by the program.

- Ensure internal controls are maintained to Timken standards and SOX requirements
