This position will be accountable to manage the relationship of a defined group of Industrial Distributors and strategic End User Customers. Apply a consultive selling approach to improve our customers' performance by delivering unparalleled value and innovation. Achieve sales and profit objectives by executing tactics and action plans in support of our business and marketing strategies in the state. Expand Timken Bearings & Power Transmission penetration and profitability within the key customer base of direct responsibility through technical competence, excellent customer service and strong relationships.


  • Achieve business objectives for the territory.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with distributors & stategic end user customers.
  • Provide training and technical support in areas of product knowledge & application, maintenance practices, damage analysis and prevention.
  • Effectively communicate internally regarding commercial issues, growth opportunities, competitive activities, etc.
  • Maintain appropriate records and communication pertaining to distributor activities, relationships, business plans & objectives, incentives and supporting action plans.
  • Develop and coordinate programs and identify products that will economically benefit both the customers and The Timken Corporation, working closely with members of Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Order Fulfillment, Marketing & Business Development, and New Business & Advanced Product Development to achieve these goals.
  • Prepare accurate long and short range sales forecasts which are critical to proper production planning.
  • Identify problems impeding favorable customer purchasing decisions and recommending possible solutions to those impediments.
  • Assist Credit Department in collecting past due accounts.
  • Resolve product claims with Manager approval.



  • Analytical and decision-making ability, to ensure smart reading of market information and formulating proposals for business development.
  • Customer influence, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and dispute management tactics.
  • Ability to drive channel management strategies for TRBs and non TRBs products.
  • Effectively communicate with end users & distributors across a wide range of individuals.
  • Ability to Champion Change and inspire commitment among the Sales Associates in your territory.
  • Knowledge of TRB and non TRB products and their applications in end user environments.
  • Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long range goals.
  • Self-discipline, Self-starter, ability to drive to completion of goals.     
  • Ability to cover large territory with extensive travel
